Detailed Safari Itinerary
Day 1: Kigali Cultural Tour & Transfer to Nyungwe Forest
Your guide will pick you up from your residence in Kigali for a scenic journey south.
Travel Note: This is a 5-hour journey. To ensure a comfortable experience, we include several stop-overs: a visit to the Traditional King’s Palace in Nyanza and the National Museum in Butare. These stops provide deep insights into Rwanda’s monarchical history before you arrive at the edge of the Nyungwe rainforest.

Day 2: Chimpanzee Tracking & Colobus Monkey Walk
Rise early for a guided Chimpanzee walk in Nyungwe Forest. This pristine jungle is home to 13 primate species and over 300 bird species, including the stunning Rwenzori Turaco. In the afternoon, embark on a walk to locate massive troops of Angolan Colobus monkeys, which often travel in groups of up to 400 individuals.

Day 3: Nyungwe Forest to the Shores of Lake Kivu

Day 4: Scenic Drive to Volcanoes National Park
Drive north through the rolling hills and agricultural valleys of Gisenyi toward Ruhengeri.

Day 5: Gorilla Trekking in Parc National des Volcans
