Detailed Safari Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival & Transfer to Volcanoes National Park
Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport (KGL), you will be met by your professional driver-guide. Depending on your arrival time, you will visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial, an essential stop to understand Rwanda’s journey of peace and reconciliation.
Later, you will embark on a scenic 2.5-hour drive to the foothills of the Virunga Volcanoes. The air cools and the landscape turns lush as you arrive at your lodge near the park headquarters.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Volcanoes National Park
After an early breakfast, proceed to the park headquarters for a briefing on gorilla etiquette and safety. You will be joined by a ranger guide and a group of no more than 8 tourists to trek one of the habituated gorilla families.
Travel Note: The trek can last between 30 minutes to 6 hours depending on the gorillas’ location. We recommend carrying waterproof boots and a rain jacket. Once found, you will spend one hour observing these magnificent primates in their natural habitat, a rare and moving experience that remains etched in memory forever.

Day 3: Golden Monkey Tracking & Departure
This morning, return to the forest for Golden Monkey tracking. There are currently two habituated troops of approximately 80 members. These monkeys are active and delightful to watch as they leap through the bamboo canopy.
After your one-hour encounter, enjoy lunch in Ruhengeri before your transfer back to Kigali for your departure flight, marking the end of your primate odyssey.
