Detailed Safari Itinerary

Day 1: Kampala – Sezibwa Falls – Mabira – Jinja

Your guide will pick you up early to beat the Kampala traffic. Your first stop is Sezibwa Falls (approx. 32km from Kampala). These falls are a hidden gem, held sacred by the Baganda people. You can enjoy rock climbing, photography, and learn the local legends of how the river was born.

Next, continue to Mabira Forest.

Travel Note: The drive from Kampala to Jinja takes roughly 2–3 hours, depending on traffic. To keep the journey comfortable, we break the drive at Mabira for a 1-hour forest walk. Here, you can stretch your legs while spotting the Great Blue Turaco, Red-tailed monkeys, and diverse butterfly species.

Arrive in Jinja for a local lunch with a view overlooking the river. In the afternoon, take a motorized boat cruise to the Source of the Nile. You will see the Speke Monument and stand at the precise spot where the river starts its journey. You may also catch a glimpse of the submerged Ripon Falls. Finally, visit Jinja’s craft markets before the return journey to Kampala.
