The Pearl of Africa Tourism Expo (POATE) is an annual tourism event in the East African region organized by Uganda Tourism Board (UTB) to bring together travel agents, tour operators, hoteliers, destination managers and other service providers along the tourism value chain. It is a unique opportunity for the tourism business operators to meet new clients, network, market & discuss business.

This event will be held from 17th to 19th February 2017 at Jubilee park, former Sheraton hotel gardens, on Nile Avenue, Kampala Uganda.

In its second year of organization, the Pearl of Africa Tourism Expo is aimed at raising the profile of Uganda as a preferred destination both domestically and regionally. The Expo has attracted over 150 exhibitors from more than 15 countries to showcase their tourist offers and hospitality innovations for the tourism sector, to over 500,000 visitors expected to attend the 3-day trade fair.

Highlights of the event

  • The Pearl of Africa Expo will attract international hosted buyers from Europe, USA, Africa and Australia.
  • Provide a platform of Business to Business engagements for tourism travel trade regionally, locally and internationally.
  • The campaign will feature FAM trips for selected hosted buyers from 10th -16th February 2017.
  • Attract exhibitors locally, regionally and internationally.
  • Showcase with special focus the Ugandan product offering from the diverse bird life to the Big 7, adventure tourism, primates, culture tourism and much more.

The highlight of this event will be the Uganda Tourism Excellence Awards happening on Sunday the 19th of February, 2017 at the Rwenzori Ballroom ~ Sheraton hotel.
