Detailed Safari Itinerary
Day 1: Nairobi to Amboseli – Kilimanjaro’s Royal Court
Your guide will pick you up in Nairobi for a morning drive to Amboseli National Park. Arrive in time for lunch and an afternoon game drive. On a clear day, the towering silhouette of Mt. Kilimanjaro provides a stunning backdrop as you track lions, cheetahs, and the park’s famous Big Tuskers roaming the marshes.

Day 2: Tsavo West – Mzima Springs & Volcanic Marvels
After breakfast, drive into Tsavo West National Park. This park is more mountainous and wetter than its eastern counterpart.
Travel Note: This transition involves roughly 3 hours of driving. We visit the Mzima Springs, an oasis where millions of gallons of crystal-clear water gush from under lava rocks, creating a sanctuary for hippos and crocodiles.

Day 3: Tsavo East – Land of the Red Elephants
Continue your voyage to Tsavo East, Kenya’s largest protected area. This park is renowned for its distinctive red elephants, which are colored by the local volcanic dust, and its expansive plains. Spend the afternoon exploring the Yatta Plateau (the world’s longest lava flow) and the Galana River, home to the Lugard Falls.

Day 4: The Historic Rail Journey to Nairobi
After an early breakfast, transfer to the Voi SGR Station. You will board the Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) for a modern yet historic ride back to Nairobi.
Travel Note: This scenic rail journey takes approximately 4 hours, passing directly through the heart of the Tsavo wilderness, the same route where the Man-Eaters terrorized railway workers over a century ago. You will arrive at the Nairobi Terminus in the afternoon.
